Attention to International Students Returning Home During the COVID-19 Pandemic in the UK
Attention to international students studying in the UK:
If you are planning to return home on a charter flight from the UK, it is important to communicate with your school in advance. If your school does not agree to your return, it is advised not to force your way back home. In situations where the school refuses or relevant arrangements have not been properly made, international students in the UK may face the following consequences.
:
First, there is a possibility of visa refusal for future extensions.
Second, for schools that have not suspended classes, if a student fails to attend classes and is marked as absent, their student visa may be canceled. In cases where schools discover direct departures from the UK during this period, some schools may immediately cancel the student visa.
Third, the exam season is approaching, and not participating in exams is considered more severe than failing.
If the departure from the school is not in accordance with the school's regulations and the student visa is canceled, tuition fees will not be refunded.
It may be difficult to graduate normally. Even if the school switches to online classes, it is generally not allowed to attend online classes from overseas. Even for online exams, many schools require students to be within the UK.
When returning home, it is important to notify the local police station and community before departure. Depending on the arrangements made by the local police station or community, self-isolation or unified quarantine measures may be required.
If leaving the UK, there is a possibility of being denied entry to the UK on the next visit.
As shown in the image, the email sent by a teacher at Newcastle University in the UK states that the university is currently preparing to start online teaching.
