Online Non-Appointment Application for BRP/BRC Replacement in the UK
Due to a significant increase in replacement demands, starting from the evening of April 22, 2021, some applicants for BRP/BRC replacement may receive an invitation to apply through the IDV app, eliminating the need to personally visit a visa center.
Please note that the IDV app application is currently only available for applications submitted within the UK.
However, after you have submitted your BRP/BRC replacement application, UKVI will assess whether your application can be processed using the IDV app. During the assessment period, you will not be able to schedule an offline appointment through UKVCAS again. You must wait for the assessment results.
The assessment process usually takes a few weeks, but the duration may vary depending on the specific circumstances. Some cases may be processed faster and not require several weeks.
You will be notified of the assessment results via email. Therefore, while waiting, applicants should regularly check the email address provided during the registration of their UKVCAS account to stay updated on the processing outcome.
Typically, the email with the assessment results will provide instructions to:
Immediately schedule a UKVCAS appointment.
Immediately download the IDV app.
Please note that this application is only available for submissions within the UK, and the time between the new BRP/BRC application and the last biometric enrollment should not be too long (generally within 5 years). For children and adolescents, as their appearance changes more rapidly, the interval may be shorter.
