During the Open House London event, there will be over 800 buildings open to the public for free.

To provide a comprehensive understanding of the history, culture, and more about each building, the official Open House London Guide has been created. It is a beautifully designed guidebook, as shown in the image below. You can purchase it, allowing you to have a more visual and informative experience while exploring the buildings. It can also serve as a keepsake for your collection.

There are various ways to explore the buildings, such as organizing your visits based on their location, construction period, and architectural type. However, due to the large number of buildings, it is impossible to visit all of them in just two days. It is advisable to plan ahead and focus on a few iconic buildings or those that personally interest you. I recommend categorizing your visits based on architectural types, and consider exploring buildings that are typically inaccessible, like government institutions or particularly valuable art galleries.

Please note that there will be a significant number of people attending the event. Remember to plan ahead, arrive early, and choose buildings that are usually not freely accessible or rarely open to the public. Some open buildings require prior reservations. You can log in to the official website of Open House London, select the buildings you wish to visit, and check if reservations are required. The website will also provide building introductions and addresses.

Being a volunteer not only allows you to visit buildings but also provides a meaningful learning experience. It is necessary to register and apply as a volunteer in advance.

Volunteers primarily serve as guides, assisting visitors by answering questions and providing information about the buildings, among other tasks. Lastly, this is a rare annual opportunity, and I recommend everyone to plan their itinerary in advance, including building locations, transportation routes, and opening hours. If you have sufficient time, I suggest applying to become a volunteer. You will have the chance to meet fellow volunteers from different parts of the world and, while helping others, you may discover unexpected experiences and perspectives that enrich your own journey of life.
