Which low-cost airlines are available?

What is a low-cost airline?
A low-cost airline is not a specific company but rather a type of airline that possesses certain characteristics. All airlines that exhibit these characteristics belong to the category of low-cost airlines. These characteristics include:

  1. Significantly cheaper airfares.

  2. No complimentary drinks or food provided, including water.

  3. Only one piece of carry-on baggage allowed, with no free      checked baggage.

  4. Online check-in is usually required, either through      self-check-in on the airline's website or at self-service kiosks at the      airport. Early check-in enables passengers to have priority in seat      selection.

  5. Generally, the comfort level of facilities is average.

A friendly reminder: The carry-on baggage allowed on the plane is strictly limited to one piece, and there are strict requirements regarding its size and quantity. There are also strict regulations on items prohibited from being carried onto the aircraft. I have experienced it once when I traveled to another country with a ticket that cost only 20-30 pounds. At that time, I only carried a backpack and a carry-on suitcase. Upon reaching the airport, I was concerned that the suitcase might not meet the requirements. Throughout the airport, there were measuring frames provided for passengers to test the size of their carry-on suitcases. If it doesn't fit, it is considered non-compliant.

However, my small suitcase passed the test. But when it was time to queue for boarding, unexpectedly, there were personnel conducting checks, requiring passengers to have only one piece of luggage before boarding. So, I had to stuff my backpack into the suitcase. Fortunately, I didn't have any cosmetics or such, so the suitcase had some empty space and could be squeezed in. However, other passengers who couldn't fit their belongings were fined on the spot, which amounted to several tens of pounds, exceeding the price of the ticket!

Alright, here are a few low-cost airlines. I have to mention that when flying on regular flights, you might encounter celebrities and politicians. However, what you may not expect is that you can also encounter them on low-cost airlines. In 2015, even the UK Prime Minister Cameron flew on a low-cost airline, EasyJet, to Portugal and was seen eating potato chips on the plane. A girl named Ashleigh, who was sitting in the same row, noticed him and excitedly took a photo. Later, Ashleigh posted an excited tweet on Twitter, saying, "Guys, I'm almost in tears! He's eating such cheap potato chips!
