Regarding the issues related to part-time Ph.D. and full-time Ph.D.:

 

Here, Shisheng Miao would like to remind you that in general, most institutions prefer to recruit full-time Ph.D. students. This preference is evident even in some official institutions that explicitly state the requirement for full-time enrollment. Part-time Ph.D. programs are typically designed for employees of the same institution who seek to enhance their qualifications for promotion, research purposes, or other specific needs.

 

For example, recently, Shisheng Miao has come across several students who are applying to pursue a Ph.D. in Thailand. In Thailand, Ph.D. programs are available with the option of courses taught in Chinese, and they are relatively shorter in duration and more affordable. These programs are also recognized by the Ministry of Education. Most of these students already hold positions in their respective institutions in China.
